Success at regional building awardsPublished Tuesday 13 June 2017
The district council and building industry firms are celebrating this week after scooping accolades at a prestigious awards event.
Harborough District Council nominated seven local projects for this year’s East Midlands Local Authority Building Control (LABC) awards which recognise quality and building excellence.
On Friday (9 July 2017), at a ceremony held at the Athena conference centre in Leicester two of the council-nominated projects triumphed.
ADM Surveyors Ltd won in the ‘Best partnership with a local authority building control team’ category being recognised for their professionalism and positive relationship with the council on 12 projects this year.
Also, Davidsons Homes (pictured), developers of Royal Park, Lutterworth won in the ‘Best new housing development’ category being recognised for taking inspiration for each development from existing streets and spaces in historic parts of the local area to ensure an ‘interesting and inviting street scene’.
The two winners will now go through to the Grand Finals on Friday 10 November 2017 at the Westminster Park Plaza in London.
Cllr Jo Brodrick, Harborough District Council’s portfolio holder for planning and regeneration, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for the winning businesses and for the council. Every year we nominate those projects we feel raise the bar to a new level and to win in two categories is very pleasing. Our congratulations go to ADM Surveyors Ltd and Davidsons Homes. We wish them all the best for the national stages.”
