Our policies, plans and strategies - Core Strategy and adopted local plan
|About this page||
The Core Strategy is a strategic document setting out the vision and spatial planning framework for the district. It contains core strategic policies that provide for the development needs of the district.
The adoption of the Core Strategy replaced a large number of policies set out with the Harborough District Local Plan.
The Core Strategy is now considered out of date in terms of policies relating to housing and economic development following the publication of the National Planning Policy Framework.
A new Local Plan is being prepared for adoption which will replace the policies and proposals in the Core Strategy.
Read sustainability appraisal reports related to the core strategy.
The Local Plan proposals maps have been updated following the adoption of the Core Strategy:
View settlement maps of sites that have been assessed as being open space, sport and recreation sites. The information was captured in 2004 and has been updated on an ongoing basis to indicate new sites as they are provided through development.
