My bank account details have changed

If you are signed up to the current account switching service you will not need to do anything as your bank will contact us directly. Your bank will arrange to automatically transfer any payments that may be made to your old account until we have updated our records. Once updated we will issue a letter to confirm.

If you have not received a letter from us within 10 days please contact us by calling 01858 828282.

Otherwise please email hdc.benefits@hinckley-bosworth.gov.uk  confirming your name, address and benefit claim reference and provide the following information for your new account :

  • name and address of bank
  • account holders name
  • sort code
  • account number
  • type of account

It is important that you notify us straight away of an account change to try and prevent any payments going to your old account. We will not be able to re-issue a payment to your new account until the original payment has been returned to us.

Under normal circumstances if you are expecting your next payment on the following Monday you will need confirmation from us that we have updated your bank account by the end of the previous Tuesday. Please note that payments due on a bank holiday will be paid early so please contact us for advice straight away.
