Grant scheme launched to boost local vibrant event scene
Published Monday 12 May 2025New grant funding is available for the growth and support of public events that attract visitors to Harborough district’s towns and villages.

Businesses, community groups and organisations can apply for revenue grants of between £500 and £2,000 to help fund improvements to new or existing visitor events.
Available district-wide, the scheme aims to enhance the local events calendar with activities that bring communities together and promote tourism.
Funding can be used for a wide range of event-related costs, including:
- Marketing and promotional materials
- Entertainers and musicians
- Event displays and signage
- Essential equipment for delivery
- Promotional activity to drive footfall in market towns and villages
Cllr Jo Asher, Cabinet lead for Culture, Leisure, Economy and Tourism, said: “Our district is an exciting place to visit so it’s fantastic that these grants are available to support improvements to existing events and encourage new ones to take place. These events bring people together and help to promote everything our towns and villages have to offer, helping our local economy.”
