Harborough District Council is asking for feedback to help to ensure its car parks meet the needs of residents, visitors, and people who work in the district, now and in the future.

Do you think the council has the right car parks in the right places to meet needs? Should car parking be self-financing? Has the council got the right approach to environmental or green opportunities in car parks? Should rural car parks be offered to parish councils? These are just some of the questions the council is asking as part of its car parking strategy consultation.

Cllr Darren Woodiwiss, Cabinet lead for Environmental and Climate Change said: “Effective management of parking can contribute to a vibrant and sustainable local economy and car parks are often the first impression that visitors have of a town. We’d like to hear how people feel about our car parks, including the current tariff structure and whether we have the right approach to environmental opportunities. We will be installing new payment machines later this year and we hope that feedback via this consultation will help us to manage other future improvements to our car parks.”

Have your say by completing the consultation survey on the car parking strategy at: www.harborough.gov.uk/consultation/info/162

The consultation will run until 9am on Monday 28 July 2025.

Paper copies of the survey can be collected from the council’s concierge desk at The Symington Building, Adam and Eve Street, Market Harborough.
