Date set to consider Magna Park planning application

Published Thursday 14 January 2016

A committee date has been set to consider a planning application relating to a storage and distribution centre at the Magna Park business park near Lutterworth.

Harborough District Council has confirmed an extraordinary meeting at Lutterworth High School, Woodway Road, Lutterworth, LE17 4QH, on Thursday 28 January 2016 from 6.30pm to allow its planning committee to consider the application.

The application is being recommended by the council for approval, subject to a number of conditions.

The application, submitted by IDI Gazeley Ltd, relates to land at Mere Lane, Bittesby.

It proposes a 100,844sqm storage and distribution centre with offices on land adjoining and linked to Magna Park, including formation of access road from Magna Park, erection of gatehouse, creation of roundabouts, partial realignment of Mere Lane and upgrading of the A5 road to dual carriageway, creation of drainage facilities and associated infrastructure and landscaping works.

Letters are being sent out to neighbouring residents informing them of the committee date and venue.

The public are welcome to attend the meeting. Anyone who wishes to make representations at the meeting can request time to speak via a form on the council website, by emailing planning@harborough.gov.uk or by phoning 01858 821215.

Those wishing to attend should note that, whilst every effort will be made to accommodate the public, the venue has a capacity limit which, if reached, would prohibit access beyond that point.

Cllr Phil King, Harborough District Council’s portfolio holder with responsibility for planning, said: "This application will be considered by the planning committee on its own merit and go through the same robust decision-making process as all planning applications. Residents are welcome to attend the committee meeting or make representations if they inform the council in advance."
