Hate, Prevent and Exploitation
Hate
Hate incidents can take many forms, for example, harrasment, name calling, graffiti... but all incidents share one thing in common - victims are targetting simply for being who they are. People can be targeted because of hostility or prejudice towards:
- disability
- gender identity
- race
- religion or belief
- sexual orientation
Many victims do not report these incidents, because they may not know that they are able to, or where to do so. Some people may endure harrassment for a long time.
It is important to report incidents, whether they are in isolation, i.e a one-off, or repeated harrassment by the same person or a group of people.
Please see Leicestershire County Council website, for further information and reporting of Hate incidents.
