Market Harborough’s eagerly-awaited Classic Car Show is set to be even bigger and better – with double the number of classic vehicles on display compared to last year’s inaugural event.
Market Harborough's Classic Car Show returns on Sunday 8 July 2018 from 10am to 4pm – with some of the most amazing retro cars, motorcycles, scooters and commercial vehicles from across the country lining the streets.
And people are encouraged to dress up on the day in vintage or retro styles – and they could win the Best Dressed Entrant award.
There will also be street parties from 11.30am in Coventry Road and top of High Street, hosted by the Baptist and Congregational Churches, with tables and bunting and traditional street games.
The food court on The Square will feature delicious food and drink from around the world including Meats of the World, South African street food, Chinese noodles and Bao Buns, sweet and savoury crepes, hot drinks, sweets, waffles and a mobile bar. There will also be rides and inflatables on the Commons car park.
Harborough FM will be hosting on the stage in The Square, with music, fun and other entertainment from the ‘Good Old Days’.

Councillor Neil Bannister, Leader of Harborough District Council, said: “This will be one of the biggest classic car shows in the East Midlands It’s great for families, the community , local businesses and the many people involved in the event. I really hope people bring their families down for the occasion which will no doubt be as memorable as last year.”
Local businesses and shops, which might normally be closed on a Sunday, are encouraged to open on the day of the event to take advantage of the huge footfall expected in the town.
Last year's event proved hugely successful with thousands of people, and car enthusiasts, descending on the town for the occasion.
In May, a vintage style poster to promote the event was unveiled and special limited edition postcards are being distributed to help spread the word.
Neil O’Brien, Harborough’s MP, said: “One of the great things about this event is, as well as the fantastic classic vehicles, it is also focused on community spirit and being as inclusive as possible. I am pleased the street party aspect is encouraging people to come along and join in which is important for those experiencing isolation or loneliness which is an issue I am particularly passionate about.”
