Duty to Refer
Under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 public authorities are required to notify a housing authority of service users they consider may be homeless or threatened with homelessness (i.e it is likely they will become homeless within 56 days).
Please make a referral directly to the Housing Team by using our ALERT system (it only takes a minute to sign up to ALERT and then you can keep check on all your referrals). Click here to start your referral or you can email the information required to Harborough Homes by clicking here.
To make a referral you must:
- (a) have consent from the individual,
- (b) allow the individual to identify the housing authority in England which they would like the notification to be made to: and,
- (c) have consent from the individual that their contact details can be supplied so the housing authority can contact them regarding the referral.
Please provide as much detail as possible in your referral.
